Chiné is a French word meaning “in the Chinese manner”.

Chiné is a mainly silk fabric characterized by the chain that is printed before being warped. The characteristic is that the design is not defined but characterized by a light blur in the sense of the warp. Traditionally are made by silk chains, which are woven with a taffeta canvas weave but on which other solutions can be created, such as duchesse decoupe, gross grain and countless others.
